Grand Mesa is the largest flat-topped mountain in the world, having an area of around 500 square miles and reaching above 11,000 feet at its highest point. Over 300 lakes are scattered across the top of the mesa providing water, grazing and recreation to the surrounding communities. The Grand Mesa Scenic and Historic Byway is part of the Colorado Scenic Byways and runs across the mesa from Cedaredge to Mesa.

Grand Mesa offers a year round paradise for all kinds of outdoor activities and interests. Fishing is a big activity offering both lake and streams to test your skill and luck. There are many trails for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. Photographers are rewarded with great views, abundant wildflowers and a wide variety of wildlife.
